You build up a friendship with somebody everytime you talk to that person. I cannot think of any other way to build friendship with God apart from prayer. If we do not pray, we will never know God as a friend. Prayer is the very foundation of the christian life...I pray that you start your friendship with God by simply spend time with him in prayer
